Why This Opportunity Is Offered . Our great readjusiment sale last Autumn anticipated the radical re- ductions aloifg all lines that have followed. In consequence we are, and for several months have been, on a reconstructed price basis. We realize, however, that unusual values must still be presented in order to appeal to the widespread spirit of economy. We decided to create such an oppor- tunity, by reducing our diseontinued fabrics and patterns, and such sea- sonable goods which, if not sold now, would remain in stock for some time, to prices which would make certain their sale by June 30th. Our further desire was to bring our estab- lishment, its resources, and the attractive prices of our merchandise to the atten- tion of those who, for some reason, may not have visited us before. Oriental Rugs If we were to be guided only by the conditions prevailing at this time in the rug weaving countries of the East, we would be justified in advancing rather than reducing the prices of this merchandise. While it is true that mediocre rugs, the dregs of the market, collected and brought here because of the war-time scarcity, can be pur- chased now at lower prices than pre- viously, the conditions as to fine ex- amples are even more chaotic than during the war disturbance.
