ALBANY, N. ¥., May §—Although Re has signed more than 400 bills wince the Legisiature adjourned on Aprit 16 and 648 since assuming office on Jan. 1 last, Gov, Miller atifl has before him awniting executive ap- proval nearly 800 measures, Me must act on them before midnight, Monday, May 16, if they are to become laws. Included among the pilie pending final dispasition are those designed te create a motion picture censorship wormminsion and to recognize the State Boring Commission. It te ex- pected the Governor will announce tis action on these measures within the next two or three days, ‘The motion picture interests sub- mitted a plan to the Governor where- by he would appoint a commission to investirate the production ond of the industry and report to the Legislature next January whether any consorship of the films would be necessary, ‘The producers, according to the terms of the offer, would agree to abide by the decision of the proposed commisston. Advocates of the motion picture regu- lation—they insist it is not a censor- Ship bill and the word “censorship” does not appear in the act—urged the Governor to disregard the proposition of the producers and to sign the bill when the Governor held a hearing on| the proposed law The bill designed to reorganize the State Boxing Commission would cfeate a new board of three unpaid edmmissioners, who in addition to supervising boxing matehés in this State also would have control over wrestling contests. The present com- malpsioners receive a salary of $5,000 @ year.
