19.60 MAYOR FAGAN OF HOBOKEN DIES Started as Blacksmith, Amassed Millions and Dominated Demo- cratic Politics. Former Mayor Lawrence Fagan of Hoboken, who started work as Dlacksmith, amassed a fortune of sev- eral million dollars and attained a dominant position in Democratic pol- ities in his city, died to-day in his home, Tenth and Hudson Streets, aged 70 years. A week ago he was called before the Mackay legislative Probers in connection with the sala, later withdrawn, of his home to the Board of Education as a school site.
