This week ts expected to be the gain week at the Empire Theatre, Broo! lyn, as Barney Gerard has sent nis Follies of the Day company in thelr roaring success, “What Does the Pub- No Want?” to that part of the Greater City. When the Follies played at the Empire last season, hundreds were tarned away nightly. The demand for @eate was so great that if arrange- ments could have been made the show ‘would Played there another week at least. ‘The main idea of the show ts to find out what the public wants, and they go about It in this way: Impor- @enators of George M. Cohan, who @tands for musical comedy; Hammer- stein for grand opera, Belasco for the drama, and Al Reeves for burlesqu all assemble and each proclaims th: hie style of amusemont i# what the public wants, and to prove it they decide to produce a show giving each manager a chance to show his goods, letting the public decide. The audience then views four di tinct shows. Cohan. His style, talk and manner of singing resembles George's, and he even plays a violin, George P.
