PATERSON, N. Jy Aug. 2— Laughed at because of a love affair and reproved because she had re- ceived a letter in connection with it, fifteen-year-old Elizabeth Garrity, a pretty student in the Paterson High School, left the home of her parents at East Eighteenth Street and Park Avenue in anger on Saturday night. To-day her body was found floating in the Passaic River near the Market Street bridge in this city. The police are investigating a mys- terious message to Police Headquar- ters on Saturday. They were notified by telephone that a man had drowned himself near the Market Street Bridge, but when patrolmen arrived the person who sent the message could not be found and ther®was no clothing about. ‘When it was learned to-day that the time at which the police were no- tifled was shortly after Miss Garrity bad left her home an investigation was started to ascertain the identity of the person who had notified the police. It is thought some light will be thrown on the manner of her death if this person is found. _—_—_————— CLASH ON GROUT WRIT.
