ALBANY, Aug. 31.-Gov, Dix made Public a letter to-day that he has writ- tem to the editor of the Albany Arqus, tn which he expresses the opinion that the Legislature when it reconvenes next Wednesday should pass a direct nomina- tion bill. The Governor's letter is a re- ply to an editorial which deciared that | the Legislature should speedily pass a Congressional reapportionment bill and only such financtal measures as are {m- Perative, and adjourn.
