The splendid diecipline shown by 600 puptla of Publi¢ School No. 10, at One Hundred and Sixty-third street and fifth street this afternoon, and several children were bitten by the supposed rabid beast. Those bditten, as tar as the police could learn, are: Edward Parks, nine years,old, of No. 555 West Forty-fifth Igseph Clements, eleven years old, of No. &9 West Forty-ftth street: Salvatore Fretso, nine years old, of No. 568 West Forty-fifth street, and Edward Hulson, eleven years old, of No, & West Forty-fifth street. Several other children, it !s reported, were bitten, but they were hurried to their homes and their names have not yet been secured. The four boys were taken to Roosevit Hospital, where their wounds were cauterized. Patrolman Charles O, Nelson, of the West Forty-seventh street station, was standing at Forty-seventh street and Eleventh avenue, when an excited cit!- zen ran up and told him that a dog, evi- dently mad, was running on the Clock between Tenth and Eleventh avenues on Eagle avenue, when an alarm of fire was sounded through the forty-three school- Tooms in the building at 310 o'clock this afternoon, was responsible for everting @ panic and the safe exit of every per! son in the school-house. Before the fire alarm sounded cries of “Fire” rang out from the street. but not a child moved until the school sig- nal rang and then they rose in perfect order and marched out of the school under the leadership of their teachers. The fire started In the teachers’ locker room on the third floor, caused by the explosion of a gas stove.
