a OUT OF A STEAMER ON THE ROCKS. The Armenia Went Ashore Off St. John, N. B., This P. M. 4. despatch to The Evening World from St. John, N. B., this afternoon | announced t..at the steamship Ar- menia, which sailed from this!port on Wednesday last, had run ashore at Nigger Head, seven miles from St. John, and would likely prove a total wreck. The Armenia, which left this port on Wednesday last, belonged to the Anchor line. ‘She left here with a Cargo of coal, which she was to dis- ch-rge at St. John and then take on a general cargo and passengers for Mediterranean ports. She was com- manded by Capt. Shankland. The Evening World notified the Anchor line on the telephone of the digaster to the Armenia, The repre- sentative of the line said that a des- patci, had been recelved earlier in the day from the captain, notifying the agents of the vessel's arrival.
