The selection of the Pike Street and Fifth Avenue site was made only after practically every available location in the north business district had been canvassed. The officers of the company, in selecting a site, studied street car and wagon traffic, and, after investigating many propositions, are fully convinced that the new retail district of Seattle will center around the Fourth Avenue and Pike Street corner. The Grote-Rankin Company recently purchased, for $50,000, a large lot (120x180) on the corner of Thomas Street and Terry Avenue, on which to build a modern fireproof warehouse, barn and garage. This property is on the new Northern Pacific Lake Union Belt Line, and immediately south of the new distributing depot. It is an ideal location for a warehouse.
