Five-« sponsible for a tb An Explanation to Our Patrons On Thursday of this week the Moore Investment Company advertised an excursion to IRONDALE on the steamship Chippewa, and more than 700 persons assembled at the pier to attend that excursion. An unfortunate accident to the Princess Victoria forced the sub- stitution of the Chippewa for the Canadian liner on the Victoria run that morning. To keep faith with its patrons, the Moore Investment Company at once secured two smaller boats, the Kitsap and the Inland Flyer, to take the big crowd to IRONDALE. The Kitsap did make the run with nearly 300 passengers. At the last moment, when it was too late to secure another vessel, a government official forbade the use of the Inland Flyer for the purpose named, as she lacked the necessary government license. Through no fault of the Moore Investment Com- pany, therefore, 400 intending excursion patrons were unable to make the excur they had planned for last Thursday. n trip that To atone for that disappointment to a large number of the citizens of Seattle, Kent, Auburn, Puyallup and Aberdeen, many of whom had come to Seattle at considerable expense for the especial purpose of visiting IRONDALE, the Moore Investment Company will, on Monday of next week, August 23, conduct another excursion to IRONDALE on the steamship Whatcom, leaving Colman Pier at 10 A. M. and returning at 8 P.
