Miles F. Hatch, M. 8., who had long cher- ished a hope to found a college on Vashon Island, sought the co-opera- tion of other citizens and so encouraging was the result that in May, 1892, It was decided to put bis plan into operation—the result, Vashon College and Musical Conservatory, which is now prepared to meet the wants of the following classes: g Those who are prepared to enter regular college work and to con- tinue throughout @ full course without interruption. Those who cannot attend college consecutive terms until they grad- uate, or wish to fit themselves for practical business either as teach- ers in the public schools, teachers of the planoforte, bookkeepers, steno- gtaphers or druggists. It ts the intention of the President, Professor A. C. Jones, to grad- enlarge the Conservatory Department to meet the demand of the increasing population of the Pacific Northwest, and the present purchase of pianos as well as a magnificent two manual Estey Organ with pedal bass as also an addition to the college proper for the spe- clal use of this department, ts the first step tn this direction. ce does not permit a lengthy description of the numerous a@- of location, healthfulness or the faculty. Sufficient to say, the complete catalogue of the institution will be mailed upon application, and those who wish to take a partial or complete course in muste will do well to investigate the claims made for thie department of the col- lege. |When Others Fail Consult | Grocers .. lib. 25 Cents
