Indeed, most of the affections of childhood are catarrh. All forms of sore throat, quinsy, croup, hoarseness, laryngitis, etc., are but different phases of catarrh. : Pe-ru-na Contains No Narcotics. One reason why Peruna has found permanent use in so many homes is that it contains no narcotic of any kind. Peruna, If taken according to printed directions, is perfectly harm- | {less. It can be used any length of time | 4 | without acquiring a drug habit. It does | not produce temporary results, is permanent in its effect. It has no bad effect upon the system, and gradually eliminates catarrh by re- moving the cause of catarrh. but it | “I would not be without it i | “ No Doctor Required. Mr. Edward Otto, 927 De Soto street, St. Paul, Minn., writes: “I cannot say enough for Peruna. It has done great work in my family, es- pecially for my oldest boy. We had doctored with three or four different doctors and they did not seem to do him any good. “We gave up hopes of cure, and so did they, but we pulled him through on Peruna. “We had several doctors and they said they could do no more for him, sa we tried Peruna as a last resort, and that did the work. Since then | we keep it in the house all the time, and no doctor is required.”’— Edward Otto. | There are a multitude of homes where Peruna has been used off and on for twenty years. Such a thing could not be possible if Peruna contained any narcotics. v Mrs. F. Brockman, 813 Meade street, Appleton, Wis., writes: ““I have never had a return of the catarrh, which had made me so miscrable and unhappy before I began lsicing Peruna. Thaw from the electric chair got into the flercest kind of a fight among them- selves today and a concerted effort was made by four of the lawyers to drive Delphin Michael Delmas, the chief of staff, and his partner, Henry Clay McPike, out of the case. During to- day’s stormy meeting of the five law- yers persons outside plainly heard ex- cited volces shouting ‘You know your're a llar.” ‘Whether Delmas will appear on Mon- day ino the criminal branch of the Su- preme Court when the trial of Thaw is resumed depends upon the outcome of a family council of the Thaws, which will be held .tomorrow. The split among the lawyers is most serious, and it is a question whether the four who are op- posed to Delmas—Hartridge, Gleason, Peabody and O'Rellly—wlill continue in the _case if the family decldes ir®favor of Delmas. Gleason held a conference tonight with Mrs. Evelyn Nesbit Thaw at the Hotel Lorraine, and Hartridge at the same time had a conference with Mrs. ‘Willlam Thaw, mother of the prisoner. It is understood that both lawyers lodged vigorous complaints with the wife and mother of Thaw and demand- ed & change of counsel before the. trial is resumed. Following the two con- ferences it was arranged for the va- rious members of the Thaw family to meet tomorrow at the Hotel Lorralne and reach a final decision. Attorney Hartridge produced a statement from Mrs. Willlam Thaw to- day in which she practically repudi- ated McPike as one of her son’s coun- sel. Harry Thaw is sald to have given Hartridge full authority to choose his own associate counsel and this may eliminate both Delmas and MoPike. The latter is angry because he had not been earlier informed of all the evi- dence to be presented. Particularly was he displeased today when he as- certained that Evelyn Nesbit was con- spicuously . mentioned in the Lederer divorce suit before she married Thaw. | This is reported to have been the cause of today’s stormy meeting.
