The work to be done under these | specifications consists in furnishing all ma- | terials and labor for covstructing and erect- | ing a stone seawall with end embankments and a whasf. It is estimated that the sem- | wall and end embankments will contain | about 90,000 tons of stone; the wharf wiil contain_ 36,000 square feet >f wharf sur- face. This eection of the seawall will ex- tend from the intersection of the nortnerly line of Channel street (prolonged easterly) | with the water front line, six hundred (800) feet northerly along said ‘water tront line. ‘The materials to be used for the construec- ton of the seawail and end embankments will consist of Stone not subject to decom- position nor disintegration by the action of sea water or air. Two classes of stone will be recognized. The first class will. include stone of one or more cubic feet in fair assortment of sizes between ome and four cublc feet: no ob; tion will be made fo stone larger than toer cuble feet: this clasa of stome must be free of seams and marked lines of cleavage. The second ciass will include stome of less than one cubic foot, in assorted sizes, but o stone less than five pounds will be ao- cepted at the quarry. The materials for the construction of the whart will consist of the requisite quanti- ties of first class, close grained, yellow fir piles and yeliow fir lumber (mer- chantable quality), wire rope, wrought fron bolts, spikes, etc.. all of the best quality and subject to & rigid examination.
