PN it o ALLENTOWN, Pa. Oct. 29.—Thomas Bechtel, who was held awaiting investi- gation on the charge of having murdered his sister, Mabel H. Bechtel, at their home a few days ago, committed suicide this afternoon in his cell at the Central | Police Station. Bechtel lay down on the floor of his cell and cut his throat with a knife. He was dead when found. The Knife lay near him on the floor. Bechtel was a single man, 30 years of age. He was a laborer and had been a policeman.
