January € Ist the description was missing, nor was any such known to be in those waters, the un- derwriters came to the conclusion that the captain had sighted the Pyrenees, which was run ashore on Manga Reva last year. A cable to the Merchants' Exchange puts >ther complexion on the case. The dis- atch states that the British bark Angola Manila for Australia on October 1 t and was totally wrecked on an un- >wn reef. Among them were the whaling bark Balaena, transport Aztec, . rer Kodiak, Falls of Clyde and Mar- tha Davis for Hilo and Planter and He- ene for Honolulu. All four vessels of the sugar fleet got away about the same time and should have an interesting race to the slands. The Falls of Clyde is backed to t the Martha Davis and the Helene to beat the Planter. —_—— Another Vessel for the Coast. The British bark Kinross has been pur- chased by Alexander & Baldwin and San Francisco will in the future be her home port. She was purchased from A. Did You Ever Try This Onef Everybody you meet on the streets now- adays either has just aad the grip, is com- ing down with it or has & sure cure for it. Fno disease has been a puzzle to physi. cians ever since its appearauce several years ago and it is as much of a puzzle to-day as it was then. It exhibits such a variety of symptoms in different individ- uals and leaves such disastrous results after apparent recoverv that as yet its prevention and cure has baffled medical sclence. However, there is no doubt but that the grip is catarrhal in character and the leading symptom in nearly every case is increased secretion in the head and throat; in fact, the first indications of la gripps are those of a cold in the head which ex- tends to the throat and lungs. Dr. Johnson Ames advises as the safest course to pursue on the first appearance of grip symptoms to keep to the house for a day or two and take Stuart’s Catarrh Tablets every hour th: first day and every two hours the following day and states that this will break up the trouble befors it becomes deep seat These catarrh tablets are antiseotic and harmless and prevent fever and the fur- ther development of ({mn germs and ward off the ever present danger of pneumonia. Dr. Gerald Simpson says: “I have found Stuart's Catarra Tablets a pleasart and thoroughly rellable remedy for the grip, eag‘eclally with elderly people with whom this prevalling disease Is always sangerous; the tablets can be found at any drug store and if used freely durin: Ih3 first few days of the attack will break it_up. L,f grippe is a catarrhal affection, the germs are in the air ana no one is proof Against it, but the timely use of Stuart’ Catarrh Tablets will prevent any serious results. DR, MEYERS &CO.
