Notice 1s hereby glven that on or about Febru 29, 1896, a light of the fourth order, showing flx‘g ‘white for 28 seconds followed by an eclipse of 3 seconds, will be established in the structure re- cently erected on the westerly part of Rackliff Rock. N. side of the mouth of the Coquille River. ‘The light will flluminate the entire horizon. but can be seen from seaward only between Cape Arazo to the northward and the outlying rocks to the southward. The focal plane of the light will be 52 feet above mean high water, and the light may be seen 1935 miles in clear weather, the observer's eye 16 feet above the sea. The light will be shown from a black lantern surmounting a conical tower, 40 feet high from the rock to the focal plane, attached to the easterly side of a fog-signal building. The tower and build- ing are white with a stone foundation. The roof Of the fog-signal buflding is brown. A white one and a half story double dwelling with brown root stands on the sand dunes about 650 feew northeasterly from the tower, and a white barn is located 150 fect to the morthward of the caweliing., The approximate geographical posiiion of the light as taken from chart No,69C0 of the U'S Coast and Geodetic Survey i Latitude, North, 43 deg. 07 min, 13 sec. Longitude, West 124 deg. 25 min. 40 sec.
