Cal. & Va.is as follows: 1650 level—On the ninth floor (first floor above the sill floor of this level) the drift run south from the east crosscut from the drift run south from the south end of the stope has been extended 12 feet in porphyry and quartz assaying $2 to $5 per ton; total length 224 feet. On the sixteenth floor (efghth floor abo ve the sill floor of this level) in working south in the opening commenced at a point 185 feet in from the mouth of the north drift on the ninth fioor we have extracted from narrow streaks two tons of Ore, average assay value of which per samples taken from cars in the mine was $25 20 per ton; from this point an east cross- cut nad been run 15 feet In quartz assaying $2 to $3 per ton. 1750 level—From the sixth and seventh floors, above the sill floor of this level opened out throngh upraise No.2, we are exiracting some ore from streaks showing a width of 3 or 4 feet, assaying £20 to $35 per ton. A west crosscut was started from the south drift on the sill floor of this level north_from 1o upraise No.2, and has been advai ussing through broken ground of former workings, with quartz asseying $1 50 per ton. On eleventh floor 2t north end of stope we are working north and south on_eleventh, twelith and thirteenth floors, and have ex d_therefrom, including about 60 tons from top openings of No. upraise, 219 tons of ore, aver: ich, per samples taken from cars in mine, was 45 per ton. z Have opened northwest drift for distance of 50 feet bayond point of intersection with crosscut, and will reopen it for 150 feet more for purpose of doing some prospecting upward to open pew ground on east side of ledge. Our present workings are counected with the C. & C. shatton this, the 1750 level, through a west crosscut from the northwest drift from main west drife from shaft. Distance from shat to the north- west drist is 360 feet, thence 300 feet along north- west to west crosscut. 900 level—From north drift started from Con. Va. shaft station on this level at & point 2 feet north from the station a west crosscut has been advanced 31 feet, passing through porphyry show- ing ciay separatiors. Total extraction of ore for week amounted to 221 tons, assay value of which, as per samples taken trom the cars raised to sur- face, was $39 50 perton. Have shipped to Morgan mill 636 tons of ore, assaying, per railroad cars’ samples, 41 32 per ton.
