Fox, the principal plaintift in the Hale & Norcross case, has told a repo:ter that as rumors have been current that the Hale & Norcross di- rectors intend 10 levy an assessment upon the stockholders at an early date, he has sent word to the directors that, should they ievy any more as- sessments pending the settlement of the case, he will bring an action in the courts to restrain its collection. Mr. FOX says that he bas offered his services gratis to the company and will run the mine withont the necessity for any more assess- memts until such time as the recent judgment of the Supreme Court is satisfied.
