Cochran, the Shoe Merchant, Ought to Be a Policeman. Captured a Negro on Broadway Who Bruke Into His Store and eS. tow Mr. Will E. Cochran, of Cockran & Owen, this morning created con- siderable excitement on Broadway near Fifth by appearing in the role of a policeman, somathing the people of that locality were unaccustomed to see bim do. Several days ago someone entered the store through the rear and stole a quantity of shoe polish, A night or two afterwards a thief entered and selected from a consignment of new Hannan shoes, which had not been moerked, a pa'r to fithim.
