OMAHA IS BEATEN, 8 TO 7 St. Joseph, Mo., Sept. 22—(Special Te‘egrum.)—Denny Sullivan, was the hero of today's game, for he stole home in the tenth inning, with the winning run, but honors must like- wige go to Billy McCabe, who tied the score with his timely triple in the ninth. . It looked to be all Omaha until that ninth inning and some of the faint hearted fans had left the park. The score at the beginning of the ninth was 7 to 4, Omaha, and there seemed to be not a chance in the ‘world for the final result being other- wise, en Beers drew a walk, Som- mers sfruck out, Wright singled and Otto Williams did likewise, filling the basey. McCabe caine to the plate, took one healthy swing and when the ball had been recovered, he was ;tlting on third and the score was all, . In the tenth, things looked dan- erous for the Josies. Forsythe, the rst man up, tripled, North walked and Krause struck out. Thompson was given his base on balls and with the bases filled Sommers struck out the next two men up. The Drum- mers scored as related in the tenth, Sullivan drawing a walk, McClelland BRINGING UP FATHER | swenworkt | OMAHA. AB. R. H. 0. A, E. Thompson, ef.
