Springer Harbaugh Passes Away at St Paul After a Short Ilness. ST Pavt, Minn, Dee. 9.—[Special Tele- gram to the Bee. ] —After an illness of two weeks Springer Harbwugh died last evening at the residence of his daughter, Mrs. L. L. C. Brooks. Mr. Harbaugh attended the na. tional agricultural college at Chicago and while there was taken ill. On his return he took to his bed with pleuro pneumonia, which was the cause of his death. The deccased was boriat New Lisbon, O., March 16, 1816, He removed to Pittsburg in_1845; where he engaged in the iron trade. Te came to Min- nesota in 1880 and took charge of two of the largest farms in the northwest—the Lock- hart, near Ada, and the Keystone, near Crookston. Mr. Harbaugh wasoneof the two original directors of the Union Pacific railroad appointed by President Lincoln. Hoe was re appointed by President Johmson when the number was increased to five. A novel plan will be brought into play.
