They go from hers to Denver, and thenoce to San Franclico, irom where they expect tb return in abont two weeks, As intimated in Tue Beg, the vielt weat concerus some very important bualness, inclading contracts aboat to b concluded with the Union, Central and Sonthern Paclfic roads, Belng questioned as to the result of his vislt here and conference with President Dillon and other U P. officlals, Mr. Pallmin sald to a Bee reporter that at this stage of the ne- gotlons he could not make their full natare public, but would probably be able to do so on his return. It is thought, however, that among the objects sought to be accomplished 1s the running of the Pullmsn sleepers through from Omsha to San Francisco without ohange. Heretofore the Uentral Pa- oific has run {ts own sleepers, but if they conclude a contract with the Pallman company, the transfer at Og- den will be done away with, and the cars leaving this polnt will make the long run of over 2 000 miles from the Gate City to the Golden Gste without the passengera having to bother with a transfer half way out. Two Immense audlences greoted John Robinson's old-fashioned show yesterday, and the majority of the people who went no doubt came away uatiafied with the performance. The menagerle connected with the show is without doubt one of the poor- est on the road, porsesslng very fow valuable animals or curfoeities. The ring show has many common plase aots and regular etereotyped circus featares, but nothing whica can lay claim to orlginality or freshnees, ex- oept, perhaps, the wonderful fest of the female Samson in pulling against elephants, two in number, whose com- bined strength Is equal to at least that of elght horses; yet, these huge mon- stors were apparently Incapable of overcoming thastrength of this French madame, Daring the afternocon an act oc- curred not down on the bills, One of the horees, In the four-horse mencge aot, becoming excited, overlesped the ropes of the rirg, aud after frighten— ing quite a number of people by his charges and cavortings, was driven from the tent At the night show the mammoth tont was literally packed, the seats ba- ing insufficlent to accommodate all, and hundreds weve sitting aboat or standing on the ground, to the annoy- anea of the rest. The crlos of “Down in front!” were so loud and ofi- repeated that once or twice a panic looked tmminent. The two features which won the most applause wera the veloclpede riding on the tight ropeand thebare backriding, which waacertain- ly very fine, Whether it was from the tame natare of the porformance in general, or that the audlence was an unusually cold one, there was certainlya lack of enthuslesm, and once or twlce when applause was fairly won there was absolute sllence only. The site chosen for the exhibition was highly conduclve to drawing a crowd, being probably the most cea- trally located and convenlent spot in the olty fit for such a purpose. Dauring the parade yesterday fore~ noon a queer robbery was perpetrated at the residense of Contractor Coots, on Nineteenth aud Jackson streets. The entire household had gone to look at the display and some thief taking advautage of thelr absence en- tered the dwelling and stole a valuable gold watoh, The strangest part of the programme was that tae long, gold opera chain to which the watch was attached was left behind and also a quantity of jewelry, all of which was wrapped up in a newspaper and thrown down in one corner of the room, where it was found, The chaln alone was worth more than the watch, and there Is no explanation to the thief's curlous conduct. John Brandt Touchwed-Higwaymen in North Omaha. A couple of men on their way howe to North Omaha Saturday night were held up by highwsymen near 18:h and Olark streets, The first one was stopped by two villlans who presented a revolver at his head bat got nothing as the man had no money or valuables on his per- son. He was let go and the next vic- tim came along betore the first was out of sight, but No. 1 was notin the mood to go to his assl , and 1t is not known what sort of a haul the ra:cals made, Yesterdny afternoon some partles stole a fi'ty dollar overcoat, a boy's coat and a hat from John Brandt's, Tarner hall, A pretty good gueass wae made as to who the thief was and & watch was kept on his movements un- til & search warrant was sworn out. The suepected party was ar- restod by Offisor Flynn about noon on 11:h street near Harney.
