STAR ROUTE TRIAL PROCEEDINGS TO-DAY. There was a very large audience present in the Criminal Court room when Mr. Ingersoll resumed his address to the Jury in the star route trial this morning. He continued his review of the test!- mony of Rerdell. Mr. Ingersoll, while commonting upon Rerdetl’s affidavit of July lost, sald he had been astounded atthe facility with which Rendell, on the stand, had picked out the paragraphs that Dorsey wrote and the paragraphs written by him- self. He had found afterwards that different par- agraphs in the paper had been underscored with a blue pencil; and that the paper had been given him by Mr, Woodward, marked, so that at a glance he could tell what to swear. “And more,” said Mr. Ingersoll, “in regard to the witnesses who Were summoned ‘here to testify to handwriting upon papers in this case. Iwill show you that every one of those papers had a little secret mark upon ft, so that the man who swore would know which Way to swear.
