JUDICIAL JOTTINGS. ‘The District Court Under Two Judges Judge Post. It is already generally known that Judge Wakeley has been determined upon by Gov. Dawes as the man to be appointed judge in this district to serve In Noville. Ia conversation with the latter gen- || tleman Tue Bee reporter learced that at present they will not hold two dif- ferent courts, for several reasons, but will presido elternate weeks, thus not only lightenirg tho labors of each but keeping the mill of justice grind- {og steadily and smoothly till the grist 13 out. There isuo doubt but that even: tually they will hold two peparate courts, and the deslgn for the new court honse contemplates that arrange- ment, At present there is no avall- able room except the council chamber for a second jadge to hold c¢)urt, and if there was there is no provision for an extra court reporter. The court will therefore run along with a efhele clerk, & sirgle journal, etc, for the present, ano, as Judge Neville thinks, until the new court house on the hill is finished. JudgeG. W, Post, the newly appoini - ed collector of internal revenue, has to hold a term of court at Grand Island in his capaoclty of jadgs of the Fourth district, and it is reported will then resign to take his new office and will remove to this city. It is rumored that his brother, A, M. Poat, Esq , of Columbus, now attorney for the B. & M. R'y, is to be appointed jadge for the new district erected out of Hall, Merrick, Platte and other countles, CONCERNING THE CREEK. The Sixteenth Street Bridge to Be Moved--A Raliroad Rumor. Iu this connection it is reported that at an carly day the Omaha & St. Paul road will build up she creek and run ous along the foot of the bluffs north of town, past the barracks and Flor- ence and within three blocks of the state falr grounds, abandoning their route up the river bottom entirely. This would bea t accommodation to the barracks and Florence folks and would be of immense advantage to the road itself, which now transports a great quantity of stores and passen- gers for the government between Fort Omaha and Fort Niobrara especially. W When the line s poshed on to the Black Hijlls it will have still more hsuling to do for Uncle Sam and it is scaroely'a question but they will make the above change seoner or later. _———————— COOPER WAGONS have arrived.
