OMana, Ostober 21, 1882, To the Editor of Tur Bre: Ia TaE BeE of October 4, there ap- peared an articlo taken from the Grand Island Times of the 3d inst., which represents me as a very bad man, Now, the charges against me aro entirely untrue and false as to my bad treatment of my wife. Mrs, Veirs went to Grand Island, ostensi- bly on a visit, as I thought, in com- pany with her father, and after Mrs. Veirs got there she wrote me a letter dated Grand Island, April 11, 1881, which read as tollows: Brice, I have a chance to go to keeping boarders and want the goode shipped up right away. Mre, ~—— said sho would pack the things for mo (thin agreement I know nothing about) and you had better let her do it, &c, &e. Now Brice I wish you would let me start and see what I can do; if you can spare a littlo woney to start with I shall not have to ask you for any more for awhile, to all of this I pro- tested but to no avail. Now as to what brovght out this_article in the Times, I was in Grand Island Avgust 4th, and what I saw I was convinced that my three little children were no getting enough to eat. As Mrs. Veirs had only one boarder it was 1mpossi- ble for her to make a lving; hence I took the course I did to geu my children where I could take care of them, and for this 1 am called a brate, etc., etc. Now to show that article contained falsehoods iv states that Mrs. Veirs had two brothers liv: ing in Grand Island, when the truth is Mrs. Veirs only had one brother, and he died when he was only five years old, and all_the balance of the charges are equally untrue, Now, if I am to be condemuned, then 1 must confess I see it in a different light from other people, Buice VeIns, Persons recovering from wasting diseases, such as malaria, fovers, etc , will be greatly benefitted by the uso of Brown’s Iron Bitter, a true tonic THE CITY STEAM LAUNDRY wmiake @ specialty of Collars & Cuffs, AT THE RATE OoF Three Cents Each, Work solicited fromall over the country.
