At daybreak tho two girls, accom- panied by a number of friends, crosaed the Alabama line, A ring was pitched, seconds were chosen, and the two com- batants entered the inclosure. Both women wore dresses without waists, the upper part of the body be- ing covered with a knit shirt, Miss Stile is much the larger of the two, but her flesh looked flabby. Miss Morwin’s muscles seemed firm and hard, and she waa looked on as a win- ner, On time being called, the two pugilistic females shook hands and ‘put up their mawleys” for tho firat round. They immediately got to work, Mies Morwin sending a right- hauder on her opponent's probosis that brought forth the crimson fluid. She returned the compliment with a body blow that fairly staggered the Morwin girl, There was a rapid ex- change of blows, and when the round was fiuished both girls had received terrible punishment. When the second round was called Miss Stile came up smiling, but Miss Morwin was unsteady. Still she sent a loft-hand blow on Stile’s cheek, which drew blood, ,but received a countor which notfled the business, 8till sho came up pluckily, and re- ceived an unmerciful beating from her opponent, who ended by a heavy body blow which knocked Miss Stile *‘out of time.” The party returned to this city, but neither lady will be presentable for some days, It is rumored that all parties will be ar- rosted, Horsfora's Acid Phosphate. Most every ome in Washington knows Jud;fl at Hawes, of Nebraska. The Judge is a genial, pleasant fellow, and, though having worn for years the judldll ermine, is not a whit like the average jurist--stern, stolid and indif- ferent, On the contrary, heis, to use crowded road with trains in the Unit- ed States. The highest train number on the last schedule is 299, and but forty two numbers are vacant, and only dpulengon trains are put on the schedule, freights all running on train despatchers’ orders, This gives 26Y passenger trains on the division, In the busy freight trains may have to be des- patched in additiou, so that the prob- lem ot keeping freight traing ous of each other's way is by no means a simple one.
