The most visionary of all schemes is reported by a Boston paper, which says that several promineut railroad men, who areinterested in both roads, are disposed to look favorably upon a plan for the solution of the Colorado pool difficulties. This is & consolida- tion of the Chicago, Burlington & Quincy with the Oentral Pacific. Un- der such a plan the Chicago, Burling- ton & Quincy could atop where they now are in Colorado, and only be obliged to build through to the Cen- tral Pacific. Thbe Union Pacific would be completely left out in the cold, as far as San Francitco business is con- cerned, The completion of ther Oregon short iine, however, might help them somewhat in the northwest. Then the Atchison is already provided for, owing to the kind intervention of Messrs. Gould and Huatington for months since, when they secured the common inter- est in the St. Louis and Sun Fran. cisco. The only parties, then who would stand in the way of the old Pacific syndicate, who have held such a ntrong monopoly for 0 many years past, are Mr, Villard and the North- urn Pucific people. Considering tho above points, aud bearing in mind the fact that but little water haw ay yot been infused into Central Pacific, and being power hall, whichis 30 feet wide and 200 feet long, The ish aquarium will be placed in position next week, ~—Who were they? That is the question Mr, Editor, you asked yesterday, 1 have not seen them, but belicve they might be of the lot cranks, lunstics and dervishe:, ‘who annoy several nights of every week the meighborhood of Mrs, Jones, for many blocks all around, Cheese 'em, South Omaha that its intrinsio worth is very great, sach a consolidation as the one sug- geated with the Chicago, Burlington & Quincy, appears not only reasonable but perfectly practicable. The con- solidation of these two large corpora- tions would make the strongest and most powerful railroad monopoly in ths country, virtually controlling all the railroad traffic l{om Ban Fran- cisco to Chicago.~ [Chicsgo Times, A e For Rent or Sale.—A good houseof ~There was a terrible runaway of a four mule team belonging to McCoy Monday worning in South Omaba.
