NUCKOLLS COUNTY. Surrrior, June 26,—The storm was not very bad hero, and wo hear of no serious damage in the county. ADDITIONAL PARTICULARS, Mr, C. W. Kyle, of Osceola, Polk county, was in" the ciiy to-day and from him we learn the following facts concerning the storm in that vicinity: | §The storm eoming up west of Osco- ola was in the air and did rot striko the ground wuntil it got somewhere near the northwest part of the city. The breadth of the storm was about two and & half or threo miles, and it swept the emall grain completely away cutting it down and destroying it. The corn is cut off clear and smooth, and from the appearance of the fields one would hardly beheve that there had been any corn at all. The storm seems to have followed the railroad track more or less, At Rising City considerable damage was done to the crops aud buildings were blown in all directions and num- bers of outhouses were overturned. There was ono remarkablo phenome- non connected with tho storm in this neighborhood. A small house was carried along by the wind a distance of about one hundred feet and alight- ed on its proper bottom. All the fam. ily wero snugly tucked in bed, and finding they were all right they stayed there and slept on for some time. The lightning struck the new Meth- odist church, which had just been fin- ished, doing no slight dawage. The tornado appeared to widen out as it went along, and reaching David Oity created dreadful havoc in the southern part of the town, At David City the storm had increased to eight miles in breadth, The smoll grain is totally destroyed, and the grand floral hall on fair grounds was blown down and is now thoroughly ruined. The house of Capt. W. F. Louger was also slightly damaged. NEW DISPATCHES, The following were received yos- tereay aftornoon : . No com- plete account of the damage done can be obtained, as the roadsare rendered almost impassable and people living far from town have sent in no reports as yet.
