Our reporter called upon Mr. Her- man Kountze yesterdwy afternoon, and learned that the price snd time bad been agreed up m, and that the papers were then being drswn up for he trauafer of the pro serty to the Kitchen Bros. There are certain agreemer te which the latter will be required to sign before the deed will be delivercd, ‘which obligate the purchasers to build a hotel on the grounds, to be com- pleted by January lst, 1882, or with- in the uext ten months’ time. Mr. Kountzestated that the present owners were aware of the fact that the price they were accenting was $15,000 leas than the property was worth for business purposes and that it would never pass fromther hands aless the the terms were agreed to. Whitmore will take place ou Saturday st 2 p. m., his daughter, Mrs. E. R. Sisson, having telegraphed from New Bedford that she will arrive here on that day. He was no ordinary man, and death raro- ly overtakes aud cuts down his like on the highway of time. Mr. Whitmore held many responsible positions in the east, south and west, in all of which he commanded the confidence and et toem of his associates and the public with which he did business.
