BALLOUVILLE Local Team Loses to Eimville Close Game—Athletic Associ and Social Club Planning Old Home Day. The home team and the Bimvilles played a fine game of ball here Sat- day, the score in the tenth inning standing 3 to 3 in favor of Bimville, owing to several errors. It was a close game all through. This after- noon Ballouvilie plays Blmville on the latter's grounds. Mrs. Willlam Cook and son Nathan, who have been visiting in Jewett City the past three weeks with Mre. Cook's mother, have returned. A meeting tomorrow afternoon at 3 o'clock in Blackstone hall will be con- ducted by members of the Salvation Army corps from Putnam. Rev. W. D. Woodward has been in attendance at Willimantic Camp- meeting this week. He returns early next week. The Thursday evening meeting was led by his son, Truman Hollis Woodward Plan Old Home Day. The Athletic Association and the Social Club are planning together for a kind of Old Home Day similar to one held last vear at which it was estimated there were six hundred in attendance. It is to be held on La- bor Day, Sept. 3. There is to be a parade, a ball game and a Jacques clambake in shore dinner style. Saturday, Sept. 1, the M. E. church and Sunday school ‘are to hold a pic- nic_at Webster Lake, going by trolley. Hector MacConnell, superintendent of the mill in this village, had an out- ing at Quddic.lake with his family. Pray, the postmaster and superintendent of the village store, has been taking his vacation at home. He is back on duty again.
