BALLOUVILLE Ball Team Defeats Connecticut Mills Team—Local Young Man to Enter Aviation Branch of Signal Corps. Last Saturday the home team defeat- ed the Connecticut mills team on the latter’s grounds in Danielson 12 to 4. This afternoon they play the Elmville leam on the Ballouville grounds. Alvah Woodward went Tuesday aight via the Norwich line to New York, where he is to undergo a minor speration preparatory to entering the aviation branch of the U. S. Signal torps. Will Visit Plum Island. Mr. and Mrs. Hessleton go today to Plum Island to visit their son. who is one of the “boys in khaki” who went from this village last month to the camp there. Going to Camp Meeting. Rev. W. D. Woodward is to leave to spend the weels at the camp meet: Ing. He speaks at Blackstone hall to- morrow at 6 p. m. His son Truman supplies the pulpit of the Methodist church in Danielson tomorrow morn- ‘ng. Through the courtesy of Mrs. George Brown, Rev. and Mrs. Woodward went 2rnoon and visited their daughter, Miss Ethel, at Dr. Mason's hospital. She completes her services there as office essistant this week, as the doctor has obtained a commission in the U. S. Bignal corps and is to take a vacation trip before leaving for service.
