Leonard— Special Addresses at Tomorrow Ev- ening’s Services—Local Patient at Backus Hospital Mrs. Elizabeth: Leonard died on Sunday morning at the home of her daughter, Mrs, Hiram Hawes. She had long been a partial invalld sub- ject to attacks of much pain. Her patience and sweetness of spirit had deared her to all who knew ner. Her terests and enthusiasms were She. was speech which led to the W of verse, a book of which has been pub- lished and is treasured by many of her friends. Ope of her later unpub- lished poems, The Afterglow, was read at her funeral. Mrs. Leonard was born in Ban- gor, Maine; April" 3, 1836. 'Sept. 28, 1359, she married Hiram L. Leonard, who was the inventor and maker of the Leonard rod, well known {o ex- pert fishermen. He died in Central Valley, N Y., Jan. 30, 1807. To that place Mrs. Leonard's body was t for_burial, following funeral services at her home in Canterbury. She was a member of the Bangor Congrega- tional ehurch.
