In the city court Thursday morn- ing, Raymond Comins, proprietor of a Jocal cigar store, pleaded guilty to the charge of running a gambling place. He was fined $25 and costs which amonntad to over $30. The pros- ecuting attornay stated that this was only the first case of its kind to come before the court and he let it be known that in the future any convictions on the above count would be dealt with more severely Comins paid his fine and departed. King, acting for Napoleon Herbert, father of Jean Herbert, who on Tuesday morning, was sehtenced to six months in Jjail for indecent exposure, has taken an appeal. The appeal was taken with the understanding that the prisoner would remain in jail until the super- ior court convenes in September and at that time he would be examined as to his sanity.
