LADIES’ AUXILIARY, A. O. H. At the next meeting of Division No. 18 the annual election of officers will take place and other important busi- ness will be transacted. The meet: ing on Monday night in Foresters hall was presided_over by the presi- dent, Mrs. M. L. Sliney. ~Miss Anna Hughes, Miss Mamie Dunn and Miss Sarah Kelly made pleasing reports on the county meeting held recently inl| Stonington. ROYAL ARCANUM. Thames council, No. 1851, held a prief business session in iForesters' | hall on Wednesday evening. Matters | of routine interest were transacted. Following the business meeting a whist was held and the prizes were awarded as follows: Ladies—first, Mrs. Louis Manches- ter (43) mirror; second, Mrs. McKel- yey (31) tumblers; consolation, Mrs. Cochrane, (17) beauty pins. Gentlemen—first, Saul Gilbeault, (44) Thermos bottle; Clish, (34) umbrella; consolation, Ed- ward Mullen, (11) armlets. Refresh- ments of ice cream and cake _were served after the whist. Mrs. J. J. Casey and Mrs. McKelvey were tied for_ second prize with a score of 31 and Mrs. McKelvey took the prize on the cut. At the next meeting of the council second, Robert the annual election will take place. MOOSE. , Conn., lodge No. 950, has the arrangements for the big class initiation which is to be held at Olympic hall Sunday _afternoon, followed by a roast pig supper at the Moose home. The district deputy su- preme dictator will preside at the bus- Iness session. At cne o'clock the candidates and Moose members will gather at the| Moose homo on Baurel Hill. At 2.15 o'clock the local and visiting members will be escorted to Olympic hall by | the New London Moose band and at 2.30 the band will escort the candi- dates to the ball. The New London | Gegree icam will have charge of the' initiation whicn will begin about 2.30 o'clock. From 5.30 to 7 o'clock there is to| be a roast pig supper at the Moose | home on Laurel Hill and a social ev- | ening will follow. Delegations are expected from New London, Westerly and Willimantic and there will be nearly 500 Moose in the city by the middle of the afternoon. The score of the pitch games was 44 to 30 and in the forty-five games, 38 to 33, giving New London a totai score of 80 against 71 for Norwich.
