ODD FELLOWS. Uncas_lodge, No. 11, will work the second degree at its meeting in Odd Fellows’ hall on next Monday evening. Only routine business was transacted at the business meeting last Monday evening. Canton Oneco,No. 3, held a business meeting in Odd Fellows hall on Thurs- day evening with a good attendance. The Canton will go to New Haven oa June 6 to participate in the Memorial service to be held there on that day. Committees have been appointed to make the necessary arrangements for the trip. At the business meeting of She- tucket lodge, No, 27, in Odd Fellows’ hall on Tuesday evening there was a good sized attendance but only mat- ters of a rountine nature were tran- sacted. This week interest in Odd Fellow circles centered itself at the meeting of the grand lodge held in Bridgeport on Wednesday. In the Grand Masters ennual report he said: I am very pleased to report the con- || gition of the Order in Connecticut this time to be excellent in every way— \lactive and growing—despite the cir- || cumstances of the severe business de- || pression through which we have pass- ed and the unsettled condition of af- fairs which has been caused since last summer by the great world war which is now faging in_Burope, Africa and Asie. I am gratified to be able to re- | port to this Grand Lodge a net gain during the year up to January 1st, last, of over 500 new members in Sub- ordinate Lodges and over 600 new members in Rebekah Lodges, which net gaips speak very well for the times; since our suspensions for non- payment of dues and our deaths have both been very large, and to make these net gains above all those adver- sities is something of which the Order should well feel proud in Connecticut. We have in this state over 24,000 Subordinate members and over 8000 Rebekah members. The assets of the Suborinate lodges amount to over $930,000, and of the Rebekah lodges over $42,000, or total assets in this state of about $1,000,000 accumulated for the legitimate trust purposes of our great brotherhood in Connecticut. The report of the Grand Secretary ‘W. S. Hutchinson showed a totl of 93 lodges with total rm ership of 24,164 on January 1, 1915.
