. O YOU wonder how some men “get there’? We confess that we, bending over the editorial desk for many hours every day, have the thought with us at times. We felt that you, too, perhaps had won- dered. And so Fred Boalt, of The Star’s staff, has interviewed many Seattle men—merchants, bankers, scientists, city officials, men in every walk of life—and has asked them how they discovered the path to suc- | cess. Not all of them have piled up fortunes. That isn’t always what success means. But they all are ‘ men who have “got there.”’ Today, on page 3, Boalt tells about Trevor Kincaid, world-famous professor of biology at the university, who refused a $25,000 a year job under the Japanese government because there are more bugs here for him to study. Monday Boalt will tell you about Julius Shafer, who came from Poland to America as a boy, and became one.of Seattle’s prominent merchants.
