That is what the unorganized farmer is up against when he tries to better himself, as Congressman Baer shows in this inimita- ble cartoon. But the Nonpartisan league discards the old, foolish bootstrap efforts. It furnishes the machinery by which farmers, working together, can better the conditions of all of them—so that all of them - can be raised to the heights of “Success,” as Congressman Baer pictures if.
