Burgess saw Mountain Landis of Chicago in an address: before' the American Protec- tive league in Minneapolis, Congress- man John M. Baer of North Dakota has threatened a congressional inves- tigation of the jurist. This formula is now put up in tablet form and'is called Combs’ Buttermilk Compound Tablets. Simply feed in water or mix with feed. I am so con- vinced that this wonderful formula is always successful that I say, kill the hen that won’t lafv after using it. Try Combs’ Buttermilk Compound Tablets on your own flock—if in 30 days your egg production hasn’t greatly increas- ed, and your feed bills been reduced, and if every one of your flock isn’t healthy, the tablets cost you nothing. One million new users are wanted, so for a limited time any reader of this paper can get the big regular $2.50 box (enough for a season) of Combs’ Buttermilk Cempound Tchlets for $1 prepaid. Simply write name on a slip of paper, pin check or dollar bill to it, mail to Mr. R. C. Combs, Mgr. Milk Products Co., 2106 Central St., Kansas City, Mo., and in a short time 'you con bank on getting more eggs. Two big banks substantiate the Company’s offer to refund every penny of your money if for any reason you aren’t satisfied, so I advise you to accept this special offer today. -Ask for their free folder “How to Get More Eggs.” 95 ON pward L) illustrates larger capacity ma- chines. Members of the boards of directors of many of the papers-are also expected to be present. * The Nonpartisan league will hold its state convention early in March to select candidates for all state offices. SOUTH DAKOTA C. J. Nelson of Portland, Ore., na-| tional lecturer, is again making a| speaking tour through the state. Hel is having some very- successful meet- ings, ‘where the “flu”’ does not inter- fere. He brings encouraging ‘reports for the success of the “Triple alliance” ticket in Washington the coming cam- paign. The work of puttin‘g the county manager plan of organization into ef- fect in this state is progressing rapid- ly. The state manager is holding meetings almost every day, and his explanatiofi of the mnew plan meets with enthusiastic approval and imme- diate action by the League members. Plans are progressing rapidly for the establishment of a new $250,000 daily paper at Aberdeen, S. D., to be known as the Free Press, and.publish- ed by the substantial farmers of Brown county and will support the program and candidates of the Non- partisan league. The plant already has ‘been purchased. New farmer papers in Sanborn, Miner, Roberts, Day and Grant counties are now in successful operation. The state publicity paniphlet, issued under the provisions of the new Richards primary’ law, has just made its appearance, containing statements of the principles and policies of the various political parties. This dis- closes that the administration party in this state is pursuing a “watchful waiting” policy. The party is pledged to adopt a program of state ownership as advocated by -the Nonpartisan league, but they did nothing in the last session of the legislature to re- deem those pledges, and they now say they will wait and see how the “ex- periment” comes out in North Dakota. As the people in this state are be- ginning to learn what their taxes will be for 1919, it has put a crimp in the old-gang propaganda about North Dakota taxes. It is being discovered by the ‘people that South Dakota’s taxes are as high, and in some cases higher, than North Dakota’s. = South Dakota has had nothing to show for high taxes but “investigations,” while North Dakota has the industries.
