KANSAS Another carload of Fords has been received and organizers are .busy working with the new cars. Addresses before the-Kansas Bank- ers’ association, attacking the League, are being circulated as anti-League propaganda, showing how frightened the politicians are of success by the organized farmers. WASHINGTON Doctor Walter Thomas Mills has closed a successful 10-day drive in Spokane for the Triple alliance. A big organization conference of the three constituent groups—Nonparti- san leaguers, railway men and federa- tion unionists—ended the drive. Organizer Alexander Wooverton was snowed in in Klickitat county but dug himself out in time for the big Spokane drive. He had made arrange- ments for a series of Mills meetings in his county. A number of organizers who spent the holidays with their families are back on the job again now. MAPPING WHEAT VARIETIES For the first time in the history of wheat growing in America it will soon be possible to map the distribution of wheat varieties and to learn the large number of names under which the same varieties are known in different parts of the country. This result has been made possible by a comprehen- sive survey of varieties made by the bureau of plant industry and the bureau of crop estimates. Schedules were sent to about 65,000 crop reporters to determine the dis- tribution of wheat varieties, the source from which they came, the date of their introduction into the community, the percentage which each represents of the total wheat acreage in the com- munity. The returned schedules have been studied, and about .a thousand letters of inquiry have been sent ask- ing for additional information and samples. EXPORTS DECREASE Exports of wheat and wheat flour from July 1 to December 12, 1919, amounted to 108,119,000 bushels, as compared with 126,726,000 bushels for the same period of the previous year.
