'VOTE LEAGUE 1T HAS been dec1ded to publish agam this week the ‘| League referendum ballot on the question of ap- proving or disapproving the re-election of A. C. Townley as president of the League. Have you voted? If not, do not neglect another day if you want your voice as a League member heard and considered by the League referendum canvassing board. If you are a member of the League and have not yet voted, cut the ballot off the bottom of this page at once, make a_cross mdlcatlng your desire regarding the re-election of Mr. Townley and fill out ALL the blanks in the ballot. Place "the ballot, properly filled out, in an envelope and attach a 3-cent gtamp to it. Seal it and address it plainly as follows: Referendum Canvassing Board, National Nonpartisan League, Fifth Floor Endicott Building, St. Paul, Minn. The ballots of League members will be counted and the result announced by a canvassing board appointed by the recent national League convention; consisting of Lynn J. Frazier of North Dakota, { David Evans and Charles A. Lindbergh of Minnesota, H. F. Samuels _ of Idaho and Mark P. Bates of South Dakota. : Every League member can vote, whether he is in arrears in his dues or not, or whether he has renewed his. membership for another two-year perlod or not. If you want to back up the decision of the League natxonal convention in re-electing Mr. Townley, place a cross, or “X,” in the square opposite the words: “For A. C. Townley for il i president of the League.” If you are against Mr. Townley and want ' the national convention to elect some other man as leader of your : organization, place a cross, or “X,” in the square after the words: t1l “Against A. Be sure to write your name and- address carefully and plainly on the ballot, including the state. It is necessary, if possible, to give the section, range and township of your farm, as the record of your membership at League headquarters is filed by section, township and range, and the canvassing board will have to look you up to ascertam if you are eligible to vote. t if for any reason you can not give séction, township and range; be sure to fill out the last blank on the ballot, giving the name or number, or both, of your township or voting precmct If you are not identified in League headquarters records by section, township and range, you are identified by name or number of your voting township or voting precinct. Don’t overlook these details in filling out the ballot. Mr. Townley’s present term expires the first of the year:.. It is important that the result of this referendum be known by the first of 1919 or as soon thereafter as possible. Mr. Townley personally and the national committee desire that every League member vote. They want as near a unanimous expression from League members as possible. They want every member on record as to his desires in the matter. The success of the referendum depends on gittmg out a big League vote. This will show how interested you are in League affairs. The League, if possible, wants to show that practically every member is alive to the issues and interested in the great work. The size of the total vote for and against Mr. Townley will determine how interested you are in your organization. Do not neglect to vote. Do so at once, if you have not done so already. Study the ballot carefuylly before you mark it and be sure that the envelope has a 3-cent stamp on it, is sealed and is addressed to the canvassing board at League headquarters at St. Paul.
