Haakenson, committee clerk of the senate, has sent a summary of the legislature as seen from an insider’s ‘point of - view, of which the Leader prints the following extract. _Mr. Haakenson was appointed from Mc- Henry county, and tells the voters of that county of the loyal fight made by all the representatives they sent down to Bismarck under the banner of the League. Here is part of his letter: “The records will show . there has never been a better bunch of legislators here more willing to give the people a government of the people, by the peo- ple and for the people than the mem- bers of the Nonpartisan League and the others who took a stand with the League boys. I can’t say that about twenty-eight hold-over senators that voted against House Bill 44. The hand writing is written on the wall against them and will be on the wall for the next two years because the people. of our state will not forget House Bill 44, and the pleading that our real farmers’ friend, Senator D. H. Hamilton from McHenry county made for House Bill 44. - That will be remembered by us who were in the senate on the twenty- ninth day of the session and also by the people of the state. I want to say, long live Senator Hamilton, so we can send him back again two years from now as a leader on the floor in the senate. I will also say to the peo- ple of McHenry that we can be proud of our senators, Hamilton and Ettestad, and Representatives Lazier and Bry- ans. These men from McHenry coun- ty stood pat. They had not only the people in McHenry county in their heart, but the whole state at large.” FIFTEEN R e S g i i ADVERTISEMENTS L Raise Two Bushels Where Y Formerly Raised One Don’t you know that it is a proven fact that with the power of an Ault- man-Taylor Gasoline-Kerosene Tractor you can very materially increase the yield—make more money?
