The legislature passed an act, which was signed by the governor, repealing the tax for terminal elevators which the 1913 legislature put on the statute books. 2 By virtue of referendum petxtaons filed against this repeal bill by the farmers last year, it has not gone. into effect and is to be voted upon November 7 by the people of the state.. If a. majority of those voting upon it VOTE AGAINST IT, the attempt of the legislature 'to repeal < this clevator tax will have been futile. . This proposition appears on the special, separate ballot for referendum measures, of which there are two before the people.: . The tax repeal bill is at the top of this’ referendum’ ballot under 'the headmg “REFERRING REPEAL OF MILL TAX FOR TERMINAL ELEVATORS.” If the last legislature’s attempt to. throttle completely all legislation intended . to carry out the mandate of the: people is to be balked, then' alT friends of the ter- mjnal elevator proposition and members . . of the Nonpartisan League must not ove look this first proposition on the refe endum *‘ballot: THEY MUST -VOTE 1 “NO” ONAT.
