D., Equity director, farmer, and active member cf the Nonpartisan Lea- gue, is one of the League’s candi- dates for the legislature. On March 24 he was reelected to the - board of directors of the Farmers’ Mutual Telephone company, the largest farmers’ telephone line in the state. Mr. Magnuson was born in Nor- way in 1863 and came to the Unit- ed States in 1885 where for four vears he lived in Minneapolis. In 1889 he moved to Bottineau county and took up a homestead, where he has lived ever since. Mr. Magnuson has always been active in the affairs of the com- munity and for 14 years was sec- retary of the Scandinavian Farm- ers’ Mutual Insurance company. After he became Intercsted in the TFarmers’ Mutual Telephone com- pany he was elected secretary- treasurer, and later also was chosen to the corresponding posi- tion with the insurance company.
