THE BURIAL OF THE MURDERED JEWESS. Last evening a HxRaxp reporter called at the negro boarding house kept by Mr. HenryWilliam Baker, at No. 41 Baxter street, and from his wife heard the following statement respecting the alleged burial of Sara Alex- ander, the murdered Jewess, in the Cemetery of the Evergreens, in the same grave with Ellis, the negro murderer, executed last Frida; The following is Mrs, Baker’s story :—‘‘After the funeral services at the Five Points Mission we took charge of Ellis’ remains. When the funeral party reached the cemetery the ody was placed by the side of the grave, and before it was lowered the grave cigger remarked, in my husband’s hearing and several of our boarders, that Sere Alexander, the murdered Jewess, was below, and exposed the top of the coffin to view,’ If you will come into the next room,” said Mrs. Bal ‘I will show you some of our colored boarders who were at the funeral.” The first one of them was Jobn Peters, an intelligent looking negro sailor, who affirmed tn the most positive manner that he had seen the coffin im the grave before Ellis was buried and which the grave digger had said was that of the murdered gir.
