NEW YORK HERALD, SATURDAY, OCTOBER 30, 1875—TRIPLE SHEET. WASHINGTON DRIVING PARK Last Day of the Inaugural ~ Running Meeting. General Harney, Jack Harkaway, Skirmisher and Ozark the Winners. Wasuincroy, Oct, 29, 1875. ‘The racing at the Washington Driving Park closed this afternoon afer a very successful meeting. The weather was charming, the attendance large and the racing good, Four events were on the card, the first a lash of two miles, the second mile heats, the third » dash of one mile and the fourth a four-mile dash. The last was a great event, the betting on the result being the largest of qe meeting, and the time made by the winner on such a track as he had to ran wa proved Ozark as good if not the best colt at four miles in America, He ran under the entire dis- tance in 7:40, on « track at least fo nds slow, and passed the winning post full of running. TWo MILES, ‘The first race was a dash of two miles, for a purse of $350, the winner of the first mile to receive $100 and of the race $200; the second horse to receive $50. Burgoo was first away, Storm second, Donnybrook third, General Harney fourth, Springlet fiith, Lutitia Hi. sixth, There was a change of places on the upper turn, Storm leading to the quarter pole, Donnybrook second, Springlet third, Burgoo fourth, Lutitia H. dtth, Geueral Harney sixth, At the half-mile pole Storm Was still in frout, Springlet second, Donnybrook third, Burgoo fourth, General Harney fifth, Lutitia HL. vixth, Springlet ran to the front on the lower turn, followed by Burgoo, ani these two came away from the others at a rattling pace, running for the mile pre- mium. There was very fair attendance at the Prospect Park Fuir grounds yesterday afternoon. Two events were on the programme, these being a purse of $400 for horses that never beat 2:8, and a purse of $500 for teams.
