This was the third day of the Louisiana Jockey trad races, The weather was clear and pleasaat, ibe track in good condition and the attendance targe. WwW. DASH OF ONE MILE. The first race was a dash of one mile, for all ages, 100 pounds on each, and three-year-olds to tarry their proper weight. Club purse of $400, tm vais race there were six starters—Quits, LO. U., Chris. Doyle, Falmouth, Revenge and Chief Engineer. Quits proved the winner by a neck in 1:46. Two false starts were e. The pools sold—Quits, $100; Falmouth, $80; Lu. U., $17; Curis. Doyle, $13, and fleld $25, MILE HEATS. The second contest was jor a purse of $600, mile heats, for all ages. The starters were Ortolan, Lotta Moore, Edwin Adams, Quartermaster and Falmouth. Lotta Moore won the trst heat amid much excitement, but Ortolan cane to the front in the second, winning it by three lengths, as he also did the third by *ix lengths, giving him the race. Falmouth was distanced. ‘ime, 1:4034—1:484—1:49%. In_ the poois Lotta Moore sold tor $310; Ortolan, $150, Quartermaster, $100; Edwin Adams, $51; Fal- mouth, $45. DASH OF THREE MILES.
