“THE SENSATION AT. ALBANY, ne Report of the Special Committee on the Weed-Irving Broil. The “Severest Punishment” to Have Been Meted Out to the Festive “Jim.” Beene of Confusion in the Assembly. Rpirited Debate Preliminary to the Introdue- tion of the Report. The Resolution of Censure Adopied Unanimously. How the Boss Will Work His Wires, The Wecessary Republicans to be Purciased. ALBANY, April 11, 1871. The exettement created last evening over the Yeaignation of Irving, the debate upon which @ppeared to foreshadow a determination on the part of one or two members of the committee to finally WIND UP THE INVESTIGATION ‘with a resolution of expulsion, was by no means un- abated when the House reassembled this morning. Everybody exp ted a lively discussion, and the crash of outsilers to get imto the galleries, and even upon the floor of the Hoi with or without @ pass, was immense in con- sequence, Long before the House had been called toorder the Doorkeepers had their hands full to Preserve order and prevent individual “mills” be- tween the scekers after place, pusilion and comfort, Indeed, when the prayer nad been concluded the crowd upon the floor of the House had become so great that several members, who had managed by dint of much elbowing to get outside the lobby doors, Were unabie to reach their seats, The confu- sion finally became so great that the Speaker had to Grder the fooFs Cléuied aud to revoke ull the punsed he had issued for the day. When ali this had been accomplished Mr. Fields rose to A QUESTION OF PRIVILEGE, and sal The special committee appointed by this House to invesugate the occurreace Which took place here on the eveulng of the 7th wf April report tbat they have conciuded the taking of the tesumony in the case, and are not yet ready to make their final report. 1 ehould think that the writing out of the balance of the testimony, printing It in order to present it to the House, anu preparing our report, could not be accomplished much vefere to-morrow tworuing. The report fixelf could prepared this even! or perhaps by five o'clock, but iere must be soine ten or fifteen pages of testimony to be printed, some of which has yet to be written out, and tt the House desires ty have the testimony before passing upon this question 1 do not think it can do sy belure to- morrow morning. Mr. ALVouD --i desire to state for the information of the House that Lhave no question whatever but what the committee can be ready to report this evening. Upon the incoming ol tue report, if the House then desire to wait tor the testimony, they can then postpone the matter until to-morrow morn- ing. The Sr¥akew directed the Clerk to read the reso- lation of jast evening; he was not cicar as to its meaning. The Clerk read the resolution. The motion to recousiter was lost by a vote of 77 to 34, and the House then adjourned amid considerable con- fuston to seven P, M. Promptly at that hour the mem- bers were all in their seats again. There were 104 members present, and only two voted against the resolution, the Speaker (Mir.
