THE F. B.’S. hterestng Statements Regarding the Finapcial and General Doings of the Fenian General Authori- ties for six Vears. Address from the Brotherhood of Chicago District to the Brotherhood of the United States. | CIRCULAR FROM GENERAL SVJEENY. THE SENATORIAL SIDE. fe Ree &e. ‘The following circular from “‘the Great Western Propa- goda,” embracing a history of the FP, B. sinco its foun- ‘ation to the present time, furnishes some interesting in- frmation of the gravest nature regarding the financial Feord of the O’Mahosy management and the relations @isting generally between that management and the LR B. authorities :— 3} wre Brotiuernoop or Tar Unren S1ates:— Brormuxs—The unfortunate rupiure which has ocer i%gy heads of our organization, conn Yaving more or less weak the strong bonds of wuion Which have hitherto bouud us hopefully together, be- ‘Biles embittering the mines of Pany of our brethren to- wards each other, we feol impetied, from motives of jus- 2e and patriotism, to lay before” you a statement of what we know concerning ihe corises of the existing er between Mr. John O'Mahony, late Pres dent of Fenian Brotherhood, and the gentlemen comprising Abe Feniaa Senate, In taking this stop we emphatically isclaim the intention of prejndictng your minds, our mutive being that truth may be told and justice done. We frankly confess ourselves in favor of the Benatoriai policy, satisfled honestly in our minds hat quick and active measures ou the — part @f the executive can alone redocm our dative Jend from bondage. In mostof the imanifostoes and “eiicia!”” documents emanating froma Mr. John O'Maheny ‘Bwee the late action of the Fenian Senate, there would Beem w bea decided intention on the part of that gen- eman and hi> followers to fasten the blame of the rrel cutirely on the ten (now increased we twelve) jong time inalvontents” of the Feuian Senate. Of ito ten gentlemen alluded to, three, namely: Gibbons, of Philadelphia; O'Rourke, of New York, and Sullivan, of Wiin, Glivo, were old and intimate frends of the late “Head Centre” and President of the F. B. OF the rest, thive othere, namely: Bannon, of Kentucky; Robert! and Mochan, of New York, are three comparntively new members of the F. B.—ezpecially the two latter gentle- men, who only came’ in by special invitation, at one of the meetings of the old Central Council last Summer—and, consequently, cannot justly be classed under the head of “long-tiined malcoutents.”” Indeed, they were only known as the sternest supporters of ‘OMahony’s system fromm the first until lost eurmor, when they were chased away by authentic reports show: fg that nothing but death to the LR. B., and to Ine. Yavd, would result from that system. Three othors, namely, Fleming, Fitzgerald and Carey, never hold Gens on the ©. C. or Senate until the late Philadelphia Convention. One of the ten remains unaccounted for; Shis is our tried and trusted brother Michael Scanlan of thin city, This gentleman has been prominently identi- fed with the Fenian movement almost since its inaugura- on, and we are not ashamed to confess that he repre- @ente thoroucnty our ideas of what Feniunism ought to Be. Under his guidame the organization here grew to matgrity and respectability, and the lessons of nelf-saeri fice and devotion which he has imcuicated by his example wustain us now, and shall ever sustain us, on the side of Saffering Iroland. Mr. Scanian never could see the wis- @om of unmeaning procrastination-he wauted mutiers wporred up and set healthfully tn motion. B.—HARD PACTS FoR TRE Maury chr It may be well now t» take a cursory view of the finan: cial history of the Fenian Bethernd. It isa well known fact that the main object of establishing the Pro- therhood in. this country was to furnish the means to Propagate the prine’plea of the I, R. B. in Ireland, to supply the munitions of war and send as many diacip- lined men to the Meld as volunteered their services, The society was under the exclusive control of John O'Mahony from the tme of ite being in- eae into this country up to the time of the Thierwo Convention held in the fall of 1868.
