MUNICIPAL AFFAIRS, Board of Saperv isors. ‘ho Board of Supervisors met yesterday, the Prost- ~ tdant, Supervisor Little, in the choir, ‘The Mayor sant in a communication vetoing a resolution ‘which appropriated $500 to George H. Board of Commissioners of Health. ‘The Board of Commissioners of Health met yesterday at the Mayor’s office. The health officer, Dr. Gunn, reported ‘the arrivals a3 remarkably healthy; that there is only one tmatance of a ship arriving this year with ship fever on Board that thero have been no cases of yollow fever; @™ fact that yellow fever ia not yet roliably reported as prevailing epidemically anywhere. ‘The resident physician, Dr. corres te reported that as to Syphus and typhoid fever there has been a great improve - ment in the condition of the city. and noticed with com - Mendation the improved condition of the streets, The City Inspector (ex-Alderman Boole) reported that so far ta the condition of the streets was concerned, the city pyre ‘out of danger, and that it was hia determination proceed vigorously with tho work until the streets al be perfectly clean; and thenceforth he means to Keep them s0. Mount Picasant Military Academy. ‘The Mount Pleasant Cadets held their annual parade at Bing Sing on Thursday, the 25th inst. It will be remembered that this fine corps paraded two yeare ago in City Hall Park, when they surprised our citi- gens by their skilful evolutions and were reviewed by the Mayor. This year they passed in review before ex. Governor Dennison, of Ohio; and we also noticed General Anderson and several other distinguished gentiemen on Ube grounds. ‘The parade occupied a couple of hours, nearly every branch of military instruction being exhibited ina beny Batts‘actory manner; and we were specially pleased to Qna the squads of skirmishers and artillorists 80 tho- roughly drilled in those difficalt departments. We visited the encampment, where we found everything as nent and orderly as the most exacting West Pointer coula desire; we next entered the stables, and there found a half dozen sleek horses, kept for the use of the riding class; we after- wards inspected a large and convenient ‘evmnasium, and senciuded our entertainment with a grand bal! in the par- lors of the Academy, The summer examizations of this we!) known institution have juat closed, and their flatter- tug record makes it evident that its present efficient prin- .
