OUR FAMILY MARKET REVIEW. The past week has shown an increase in the retail mar- ket business over the previous week, and the supplies of most every kind of food have been quite reasonable. In the fresh meat trade we find nothing particular to 1ct4; and the prices remain the same as at previous quotations. In the poultry and game trade we note several new ya- rigties, besides a pretty good supply of the old qualities, but with no corresponding change in prices. This evi- dently thowe that the demand is quite equal to the supply. In the butter and cheese trade we notice liberal supplies but no changeéé in retail prices. In the fish trade there bas been some slight changes by the addition of several new kinds and the advance in prices of others. Salmon trout, from Lake Ontario, of a very superior quality, is selling at 16. per ib, The constant wet weather we had during the week before last prevented farmers from dig- ging potatoes, pooeeanently we have to note am advance in prices, which will probably be of short duration, The potatoe bay tat both in our own and Weatern States, is said to be very good; the Nova Scotia crop ieslao reported very large and free from disease, ‘The receimts of apples were quite small during the past week. Next week larger quantities are expected lo arrive in canal boats, Choice peare Are quite scarce, and the prices asked are almost fabulous.
